Two members of the Grande Armee shelter overnight under a broken down French 8 pounder, during the retreat from Moscow. In the background, several dead comrades lie buried in the snow. The 120mm 8 pounder is an old Verlinden item. The figures are sculpted from Aves Apoxie Sculpt, with heads, hands and feet from the spares box. Painted in oils, inks, and acrylics.

Stunning vignette, they certainly look cold and miserable poor souls. Love the pattern on the rug, a very nice touch.
