Marc and Tony, thank you very much! My personal challenge for this project was to tackle the difficult subject of black. That's why I chose to make him a Hospitaller Knight. To make thing more difficult I chose to make the beard also black. This way I was forced to find a way to paint three different blacks. But these blacks had to work well together. And also I tried to avoid the cold look for the black fabrics. It was a difficult but very interesting task. I'm planning also a white version as an old Knight Templar sometime in the future.

Nap, Keith, Gary, Mobo, thank you very much.

For blacks I used the same base mix: flat black (SC-00), deep blue (SC-55) and the base skin color (I don't remember exactly what color was that). The proportions of each color in the mix were slightly different for each black element. Furthermore in the base mix of the beard I added red (the red I used for glazing the cheeks and nose). For shadows I added black till pure black for deepest shadows. For highlights I gradually added the skin highlight color in the mix.

Nothing more to say, excellent work on black tones. Some doubts about the camail shape but this is out of your wonderful job. Very very good indeed !!!
