Awesome figure to work, Colin. I botched my Denison pattern and ran with it. It's a tough one to get your head around but looks like you've got this licked. Ruck On!

Thanks Steve. My plan is to paint and shade the light khaki green base and then over lay diluted transparent inks for the green and brown. If it works, one should be able to see where the two colours cross over each other as in the real garment. It should also allow the base shading to show through. Hope it works. I may try a 2D test first. If so, I’ll post it here.

Hi Colin

Nice work on the face , he’s going to look exhausted when finished .

Liking the plan you’ve got for the denison

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun at the bench

Today…passed over the Denison (don’t worry about the stark green undercoat, it’s just a rough in). Did his wool battledress trousers and started boots and gaiters. Added the beginnings of a green wool glove to the left hand per Richie’s comment.

Hi Colin

Good progress on this , did you use any particular techniques on the trousers in respect the textures?

He’s got a great face on him

Nice update looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Great job so far, I like the way the trousers are coming along with the texture. The underpaint for the Dennison doesn't look too far off in the photos.

Cheers Simon

Hi Colin

Thanks for the updates , good start on helmet and scrim

As for the haggard face .....he looks better than me atm ...lol

You certainly seem to be enjoying the paint

Looking forward to seeing more

Thanks Nap. I’m a sucker for personality figures.

Working on his Denison base colour.

I dropped him and broke the barrel on his sten. Luckily found the piece. I will hold off reattaching until the end of the project as the repair is sure to be delicate.

Hi Colin,
I'd send you another mate but you would have to hack the figure apart and he is looking so good. A good repair will suffice. Loving this
project so far.
cheers

I didn’t doubt it mate but didn’t ask as I thought the same as you. A repair is relatively easy to accomplish. Old man hands don’t grip as consistently as they once did. Enjoying this a lot. Thanks again.

It's a word now for sure. Following the shade and light through with the camouflage colours is going to look great.

Cheers Simon
