Hi guys. I purchased Crecy Models mounted Black Prince figure from Red Lancers today and i have been rolling some ideas around in my head for a vignette. The kit comes with a wardog wearing a heraldic coat. His head is down and to the side as if hes looking at something near the ground. I was planning on depicted the Black Prince mounted on his horse on top of a small rise. The land would slope down to a small creak or stream. I was going to have the dog standing a bit downslope looking at an animal in the creek. I was thinking of either a frog sitting on a rock or a duck. Also, for scenery, i wanted to have an ancient celtic cross that was crumbling to the ground in heavy undergrowth. Would there have been celtic monuments still standing in the time of the Black Prince? Can someone please point me to some websites depicting these crosses? I did a google search and kept finding jewlery and modern depictions.

Im going to have a base specially made from Epic Bases and ive ordered some groundwork supplies from Mililtary Minatures Warehouse. This is going to be my most ambitious piece to date. All of my other figures have been depicted with simple groundwork so be ready for some questions :).

Anyways, any comments or suggestions on this ideas would be very helpful and most appreciated. Thanks guys.

Neat idea. Regarding the Celtic monument, they're still there. BTW, did ask about references for Polish Winged Hussars? I met a guy this past weekend that re-enacts them here in CA this past weekend at a club meeting, if I can find his URL I'll forward it to you.

Hello Dave...that's a nice idea for a vignette...look forward to seeing how it develops.
I'ts surprising just what you find in the English countryside, even today...

Marc...some good info on those links

All the best.

Roy.

Thanks for the responses guys, i appreciate it. I liked those links but do you guys know of any pictures of the crosses themselves thar are not modern depictions? I want to see how they age.

CapnEnglish, if you have that link for the Winged Hussars it wouold be very helpful, thanks!

Hello Dave,

that sounds like a really good idea and I´m looking forward to seeing the development.

I did a celtic cross a few days ago (I will show in a few days). Here are the pictures that I have used as reverences:
