This bust is unique as it can be painted in 6 different regiments with no change to the casting. Also attached is a photo of the very rare uniform in the Cramer Museum. Thanks to Carl and Jason for there illustrious work.
Thanks for looking ,
Mike

Imperial German Leutnant 1910
Regiment of 4th Hussars
'von Schill' 1 Schlesisches
1/10 scale resin bust
Item: BMM29
Sculpted by: Carl Reid
Box Art Painted by: Jason Green
THE PRUSSIAN HUSSARS WERE OF AVERAGE HEIGHT AND RODE ON SMALLER BUT AGILE HORSES. THEY WERE NOT AS DISCIPLINED AND TRAINED AS DRAGOONS AND NOT AS STRONG AND ROBUST AS THE CUIRASSIERS, BUT THE HUSSARS WERE THE MOST DASHING. THEY PARTICIPATED IN THE BOLDEST ACTIONS, WENT THROUGH THE MOST DIFFICULT SITUATIONS, SKIRMISHED AND SCOUTED. THE HUSSARS DISTINGUISHED THEMSELVES IN NUMEROUS BATTLES, INCLUDING HEILSBERG, LEIPZIG, MOCKERN, LIGNY AND AT WATERLOO (BELLE-ALLIANCE).
IN 1806, THERE WERE 10 HUSSAR REGIMENTS, IN 1812 ONLY SIX.
IN 1815, PRUSSIA HAD A TOTAL OF 12 HUSSAR REGIMENTS. THE 11TH "2ND RHENISH" WAS FORMED FROM BERG TROOPS: 1ST, 2ND AND 3ND HUSSAR REGIMENT. THE 12TH HUSSAR REGIMENT WAS FORMED FROM TWO SAXON HUSSAR REGIMENTS AND SOME MILITIA.
ONE OF THE OLDEST REGIMENTS IN THE PRUSSIAN ARMY, REGIMENT NO. 4, WAS FORMED IN 1741. IN 1889, KAISER WILHELM I GRANTED THE HONORIFIC TITLE "VON SCHILL" TO THE 4TH HUSSARS IN HONOR OF PRUSSIAN HERO FERDINAND VON SCHILL,WHO WAS KILLED BY THE FRENCH IN 1809. IN 1910, THE REGIMENT WAS GARRISONED IN OHLAU (SILESIA) PRUSSIA. DURING WORLD WAR II, 60% OF THE TOWN WAS DESTROYED AND OHLAU BECAME PART OF POLAND.
REGIMENT NO. 4 WAS THE ONLY HUSSAR REGIMENT THAT WORE THE DISTINCTIVE AND NOW VERY RARE BROWN TUNIC.
PAINTING THE BUST : THE BUST CAN BE PAINTED 4TH HUSSARS OR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING HUSSAR REGIMENTS. ONLY THE KOLPAK BAG COLOR AND BANDEAU, TUNIC AND BRAID COLOR AND THE TRIM COLOR FOR THE POUCH BELT WILL CHANGE.

Not a fan of half figures normally but this is well done and incorporates the arms nicely. Best of luck with it!

Carl Reid you are doing every month a great attack at my wallet.;)
But now i gonna wait for the WW 1 Highlander as seen at Stormtroopers last Euro.
Nevertheless: Its a great sculpt.

Thanks for all the great comments, a base is not included in the kit. But if you buy the kit from Michaelminiatures.com just ask and I will add a resin base that will work. This figure will also look outstanding on a wood base of the painters choice.

A rare perfect sculpt , thought I would share this upcoming bust. It is perfect to the painting. I was very impressed with the sculpt ,Carl has a gifted rare skill. At 1/10 scale. Box art is being painted by Jason Green.

And back at the hussar bust, it is something that no collector of Imperial German Cavalry (me! me!) can pass up. The fingers of the left hand appear to be a little longer and thinner than they should, but that might be the result of the pic's perpsective. As I have propbably mentioned before, Paul Sanders' Imperial German Hussars 1880-1900 is by far the best readily available source. Vol. 1 will take you up to Regiment No.9 and an extra $50 or so will get you Vol.2 that covers the rest of the regiments.
