After having some time out,i decided to get back into my painting with a simple project,no conversions or backdrops with this, just straight out of the box, assembly and paint.
This latest project is the Young Miniatures Bust depicting a French Grenadier of the imperial guard,i do love painting the Young Busts, the detail is superb as is the sculpting and casting.
The bust is 100% resin, although I did change the resin bayonet for a white metal one, resin bayonets never look good to me in any scale, metal is far better.
As I said the bust is beautifully sculpted and captures the old guard look perfectly.
The box art has been painted depicting a sergeant of the guard and I have decided to stick to the same, with the gold and red mixed tassles.
these pictures are the early stages of the head painting and there is still some work to do,with the fur bonet and tasssles in terms of fine lining and detailing.
I have laid the base colours onto crossbelts and uniform, these will all be finished in oils depicting various shades of white,i will also add some worn in look to the uniform as I don't like all that pristine look,i like my subjects to have a campaign feel about them.
Its good to get back to the new bench and bigger man cave after a difficult few weeks.
