Which shade of red for the british army at this time . Help

ie is it the same as the boer war or a bit darker.

Ron, Id go for Napoleonic-type colourings, scarlet for officers, slightly more orange/tawney for ORs.

Ron I would fade it a lot if its for an enlisted man. They would fade badly due to intense sun and cheap materials used. Britain was never to good at spending money on troops.
As Steve says but fade it a lot.
Ask Brian, I am sure he was there at that time!
