Yet another of one of my bust to full figure conversions, this time it's the ACW Iron Brigade 1/9 bust sculpted by Carl Reid & produced by Mitches Military Models.
I wanted to build him into "that" crouching run that I believe men would often adopt whilst running into a hail of bullets & shell fire.
Built as usual with a skin of magi-sculpt over a carcass of milliput, I've changed the position of the left arm holding the pistol to be more extended forward, also added a sword scabbard, ends of the waist sash, & satchel, I've sculpted the legs to be wearing knee length riding boots rather then gaiters.
Hope you like him & another one to have to get paint onto to finish him.
Cheers
Jim(y)

James ,

As usual a rather fine piece of work ...but legs on a bust ..I am almost having a dodgy ticker !.....

Actually must admit the bust actually is crying out for legs ...but not on my work bench!

Fine work , glad you took off the pouch and replaced it with the satchel .......

Scabbard straps look good and I like the sash coming out of the belt at the top .....

What rank did you give him?

I am sure Mr C.Reid esq will be suitably impressed

Now get those scruffy brushes swirling young man

Hi Jim,
Very nice work again and nothing is lost with the dynamics and movement (my favourite is still the Royal Marines), but look forward to seeing this one painted.(y)
cheers

Hi jim, this looks great so far mate, just one thing though, during the ACW,officers boots had quite a high knee cover,i think ut would look even better if you extended the top of the boots, however as i said before its a great piece of work and im looking forward to seeing it progress.image.jpg image.jpg

You've actually managed to something special here. I love this one - a big on the big side, but this is superb modelling indeed. I'd love to see this in the flesh.
well done mate.
