Big mistake not assembling this one before painting.
Can't get the bloody arms to sit flat, and am frightened that I'll spoil the paintwork.
Shan't make the same error again.

One bugger attached, with minimal effect on the paint.
Just hoping the right one sits straight on the shoulder and left arm.
Stupid bloody hobby.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how many times you dry fit it never goes together again once painted. Hope you can fettle that gap properly mate, it's too good a figure for it to get all buggered up now.

Cheers Simon

Hi David

That’s a good result on the slight filling , you’ll sort this out

The figures a classic and a fine sculpt and your definately getting the best out of it

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

That's fixed a treat, with the seam line painted in it looks as good as new. Also like the colour balance on the last picture.

Cheers Simon

Thanks gents
Union figures are rather scarce, especially ones as nice as this. So I went against the usual instinct to avoid anything with crossed arms. However, that principle has been reinforced over the weekend.
The arms' attachments look poor: toy-like. Assembling everything first, as would usually be the case, would have made painting really awkward. This approach has enabled me to paint everything easily, but at a cost to the finished article.
Some compromises work better than others.

This is looking really good and I think you made a great save with the arm join. It's always tough to decide what bits to paint before/after assembly.
