That's a much better photo, I can see a lot more of your subtle work. Very nice.

Ever noticed how the slowest jobs have the least immediate visual impact, and vice-versa?

Becker and Fagen: showed the world how to write music.

Yes, the knapsacks were notoriously cumbersome and got dumped pretty fast, in favour of bedrolls.
Frock coat highlights need to be raised at least one more notch, then a review of all the tones and a bit of touching up.
And the other hand.

I'm really liking the way you handled the Dark Blue coat and Sky Blue trousers. It really bugs me when I see the light "Powder Blue" trousers on Union figures. There's a lot of variation for Sky Blue and I think yours is an excellent interpretation

Thanks very much.
I used to have a pair, in my re-enactment days, bought from the US for the same reason.

Looks really good

Have you painted the eyes on him ?

Can you not adjust the hand position to get the musket sitting right .....or buildup the groundwork slightly

Look forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

Work in progress
Eyes are painted, even though photos don't always show that.

Oh 'bugger', although I am relieved it doesn't only happen to me. Looks like a good fix with the stone, better than him getting mud on the Rifle butt. He's really coming to life now mate, a very striking and attention grabbing figure.

Cheers Simon

Many thanks

I had exactly the same problem and solved it with a rock just as you did. Don't know why it happened because the shoulder fit was tight. Maybe the original base (which I didn't use) had a high point for the butt.
That's interesting. Mine didn't have a base supplied.
The arms aren't a great fit, which is a mistake when that is clearly an important consideration.
