Martin, it's been great watching this progress. Particularly interesting the way the face has come together.....really looking forward to the finished piece.
The background research and information has been impressive (y)

The part below at the caftan, where later the pistol grip will cover much, I've kept for today.

This is currently the stupidest place to be painted on the bust, because it also has a lot of the modeling here only hinted, for it's can not be seen anymore. I have the indicated points "somehow" painted and hope it fits later ...:

And with this: Nice weekend to you all!

Martin, this is getting better and better , i really like the gold trim, looks very realistic and as i said before the selection of colors is great.
You are really taking your time with it and that shows a great work.
Best regards

Martin ,

Yesterday I had a telephon call with a good figure-friend of mine. We talked about this and that - and also about my "Ivan Sirko".

And I received the well-founded advice, the shirt of my Ataman's better lighten with white.

Actually today I had planned to paint the missing sleeve - but when I had the base color on it, I reminded again of the telephone conversation.

I've mixed my new shirt ground color - but compared to the original tones I took this time not "Light Flesh" but white ...:

With this mix I have the shirt once added two thin glazes and then set with the pure white highlights.

The result is striking: All drapery looks much more plastic, the color contrast to skin color (chest) in the shirt neck is much better - and generally it looks much nicer!

The color difference to before you can very well see the inner neckline, which I have not painted anew, because it will not seen later..:
