Hi Guys

Just started this one this morning and what a bust this is, the casting and sculpting are exceptional, all I can say is, buy it and give it a go.

Please let me know what you think

Dave

Just started this one this morning

Man Dave, that's enough work to last me at least a week. Nice looking fleshtones though. Very subtle color transition lines. Please tell me you did this with an airbrush?!

Looking forward to the rest,
Jim Patrick

Hi Jim

Yes I did this with an airbrush, using acrylics things can take a little less time.... :)

Dave

Hi Ross

NO, I can say hand on heart that Rob Hendon has not turned me to the dark side, to be honest this kind of bust, needs to be done with an airbrush. But it does give a good base for the finish work to be done with a brush

Dave

Very nice work,...but shouldn't you be working on that Ashigaru?

Regards Callum.

Very nice work Dave...glad you got him at last.
Good to see you're taking your time over this one...

You need a change after all the dragonflies... ;)

All the best mate.

Roy.

Hi Callum

Yes I should be doing the Ashigaru, but I needed to do someting slightly different, as Roy said the dragonflies were getting to me. And of course I had a really stress filled week at work, so needed a day painting to relax me completely and this was the result...

Thanks for the comments

Okay, Dave, you just made my jaw drop. And it's bruised from hitting the floor. Fantastic airbrush job! I prepped this figure for painting a while ago and I've been wondering how to attack it properly. Of course, now that I've seen your absolutely amazing work - I'm scared!!! It's just so good!!!

Please post pics of the finished figure when you're done - my jaw should be ready for another drop by then!! :)

Hi Nancy

Dont ever be scared of anything as small as this, unless it has 8 legs...

you realy need to get past the primer on this one, it may only have 3 parts but it a sensational kit, go on, you know you want to.....

Dave

I concur with everyone else, Dave. Looks great. Super job. Wish I could handle airbrush like some of you guys.
Rob

Hi Dave, you say you are using a airbrush for the Jager, which model do you use? your results are excellent.

Regards Callum.

Hi Callum

I use the Deville Bis Aerograph 63 with an A body, its dual action, its about 35years old, and you can spray down to about 0.35mm line thickness, you can spray using very low pressure as well, as it is gravity fed and not suction fed. Its a lovely airbrush, one of my prize modelling tools, luckily you can still get all parts for it, there is a new version on the market, the Aerograph 93. And both parts and new versions are available from Bell Creative.

Hope this helps.... its worth buying a decent airbrush, the best you can afford...

Looking great Dave (y)

I can't believe you only started this
a day or so ago.

I'd still be working out what
colours to use.

Pete

Hi Pete

I just got myself in to trouble with the other half, with this one, I will have tospend some time with her tomorrow evening. I set myself a challenge to see if I could paint this one as quick as possible, I dont think I did too bad for 11 hours clean up and painting so far......

thanks for the comments

Dave
