This is the first time I have painted an Asian skin tone so it was a bit of an experiment.
As usual in oils , I started with an overall spray of Humbrol acrylic from there spray can range which was yellow Ochre.
The oils I used were , Burnt umber , Burnt Sienna ,titanium white ,and a touch of Purple lake added for the shadows" just a little"
Various concoctions of these colours were added for shadow and light .
The beard was done in Mars black and Burnt Umber and then lifted off with a dry Filbert brush to allow the base coat to shine through and blended with more black where it meets the skin.
I will go back in and do some shadow under the eyes now that it is dry .
Cracking job Ron. I've got this one sitting primed up ready on the Shelf of Shame and it's a lovely piece. Thanks for the share and the painting recipe.
