Having used the W & N No.7 range, and due to the cost decided to purchase the above set.
As one brush (5/0) arrived broken, I contacted the seller who responded quickly stating another will be posted out that day. Hope they are okay to use, as only time will tell. For the price, a lot cheaper than W&N and great service from the seller.
(I managed to repair the broken one by drilling & pinning, then setting the ferrule into Araldite).

They just sent me a whole five brush replacement (set). Well done on excellent customer service.
(Everything Airbrush) via Ebay.

What are the specs for these brushes, Glenn? Synthetic or natural fibers, and if natural, what kind of fiber, eg, Kolinski or other sable, some other hair, etc? Thanks in advance!

Prost!
Brad

Oh, duh! I hadn't looked carefully at the pictures as I should have, and I've answered my own question. Natural fiber, Rotmarder, which is the Kolinski sable. Sorry for being careless!

That's a pretty good deal, then, for a set like that.

Prost!

Let us know how you get on. I've tried several good quality brands of sable brushes but none beat W&N Series 7 for me.

For around £16 per set of five and advertised as Kolinski Red Sable, I can see the attraction.

I'm no seasoned brush user, but they do have fine tips for detailed work when using both acrylics and oils, and so far they've kept their shape/points after cleaning. I know some top painters use them, and compared to W&N No.7's (I bought a few to try), are a much cheaper option.

I'm not keen on the tapered joint between the handle and ferel which produces a weak spot.

The photo is of three i've used so far.

Hope this helps.

Hi Glenn

Thanks for comments appreciated

If you have a W&N size 0 can I ask you to put a picture against the Kolibro 0

What are they like for holding the paint ?

Cheers

Nap

Hi Nap,
Not sure why the the hairs stick together and have no 'spring' on the No. 7. I tried a brush cleaner, but made no difference. The other brush is newer, so early days. They hold the paint okay, and I think for the price represent good value for money. I bought them via ebay whereby one brush arrived damaged, (broke at the ferel). They sent another set so can't complain.
