Ok brother Petey...you are on!
It's official...I humbly accept...This should be interesting...(What the hell am I thinking! ) Nope, not a bit of pressure here at all, nope, feel really good about this challenge...

Now, what's say, uhm I do this gig, and I succeed (which I never doubt myself  ), are ah, you and "Pretty Boy Lar" (better know as, PBL) gunna wear a grass skirt with your Hawaiian shirts at Chicago?

Come on...gotta let it out Petey... ;)

What say you?

Ok, quiet a bit off topic but what the hell (Oooops, did I just spell that?! ), I thought everyone wore a Hawiian shirt to a show? I'm plannining on coming to Chicago( not confirmed yet) and rest assured, I will be wearing the loudest and most obnoxious shirt I can find!

"Thank ya.....thank ya very much" ,
Jim Patrick

Patrick,
Grass skirts are only to be worn in Tulsa. Besides, I fear that PBL wouldn't wear anything under his

Jim,
Loudest shirt - yes. Absolutely! I recommend we make them the "official pF shirt" for identification purposes at shows.

Kenneth and Guy,
Thanks for your kind words...
This is the first figger I have done using dorlands. I was really careful and think too cautious with it's use, but nonetheless, I learned a lot from this figger. Bob Tavis was patient enough with me at MFCA and gave me his medium mix for oils and I tried it on LaSalle...I think I just have to get comfortable with the mix ratios, but that will come as I practice more.
Thanks again guys! ;)

All the best

Patrick

Where do I start. Patty Boy Kirk doing a 1/35 WWII German with camo! I'd love to be a mouse in his shop, except I might get killed by the flying figures as his frustration levels doubles the climatic temperatures in Northern Va! Kind of the same effect I would have in Chicago if I wore a grass skirt baby! LOL!!

Ok...here is the final piece; basework is done, everything is dull coated and the lace highlights are in! Whew...glad this is behind me!

Patrick, Wow! you did a really nice job on him buddy. I like the way you did the boots/false boots. Your painting gets better with each figure you do.~Gary

Thanks Gary...
This guy was a lota fun, and trying...I really appreciate your encouragement and kind words...Hope all is well my friend!

All the best

Patrick

Jason,
Thanks so much, that means a lot; thanks!

I experimented with Dorlands for the first time on this piece and since I know too much wax in the mix makes things glossy and shinny, I was very hesitant to use much at all...I think as I get more comfortable with it, I'll find the right mix ratio...

Hope all is well with you my friend... ;)
Take care,

Patrick

I think maybe tanks or model airplanes might better be suited to your method of painting ....DOH!  ;) Just kidding. Excellent work my friend

I particularly like the boots as well. Very well done and the handling of the red looks good from the photo. Very nice.

Lou,
Great to hear from you!
Tried to call you on your Bday, but guess I missed you...hope you had a great day! ;)
The red was a challenge my friend, and didn't want to over highlight...It's one of those tough colors to get right, and there are so many different shades and tones, shhesss!. I looked at the pics I took of your stuff at MFCA and used them as a guage, I think I have it about right. I'll have it at the DC Show (you gunna go?) and if I can swing it, Chicago, too...working that real hard on this end.
Thanks again for the kind words...look forward to hearing from you; hope all is well...

All the best,
Patrick

Joe!
Howya been? Hope all is well; thanks for the kind words and the encouragement, it means a lot ;) .
I liked doing the lace work on this guy and didn't use a bit of printers ink; I used Testors enamel gold with Liquin to get the effect...I sorta like it, too...
Hope all is well, take care Joe...
All the best

Patrick

Thanks brother!
Great idea, I didn't even think about a Shako...ugh! :( No, I went with a log and on top of it I laid a map and a couple rocks holding it down from a breeze...hard to see in the pic I know. I'll see if I can get a shot of it this evening and post in the thread. I thought it would be fitting and tie in with the telescope in his right hand...
Did I miss?

Hope all is well my brother!

Patrick
