Hi Guys

I hope you are all keeping well in these increasingly difficult times.

I am pleased to have managed to find time to get beck to sculpting and am pleased to announce the release of my two latest busts.

The first is to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Britain. not a fighter pilot, I opted for something little different: a WAFF plotter from one of the op rooms. She is wearing the normal WAAF jacket, with rank stripes, and the headset and microphone set. the kit comes with some wire join the headset to the breast unit.

the second bust is a return to the English Civil Was an officer of a pike regiment. The sash and halbard indicating his officer status. it is a reworking of an earlier bust, this time as a full half-figure. as you can see from the photo, the shaft of the halberd is a length of plastic rod. This complicates the casting process but I feel it gives a cleaner and straighter part Thant trying to cast the shaft in resin.

both are available for £20.00 each, plus postage, from my website:

Very nicely done. My 99 year old mother-in-law was a plotter and then a radar operator. She still goes for a 1/2 mile walk every morning and likes the odd glass or three of an evening! A different generation, but one to whom we can be grateful for their quiet courage (my late father survived 36 ops as a lancaster navigator).

Two nice pieces. The WAAF plotter is - as you say - something a bit different, and I do rather like the pikeman. Friendly prices also.

Hi Peter

Good to see what you've released ...the plotter is particularly relevant and a good subject choice ...it might be the angle of the picture but the arms look thin

As for the ECW bust that looks reall good now with arms added ...it works well ..nice idea about the shaft ...another one I would look at is a kebab stick ( unused ! ) to have the surface detail I am tempted by this ...basecoat the musketeer yi released so best get painting

Hope we see these painted up

Thanks for sharing

Stay safe

Mike - thanks. i bet your mother has a host of stories. Have you thought of recording them? Both my father and father-in-law lived through the occupation and I really regret not getting them to tell all of their stories from that period.

Steve - thanks.

Nap - the angle makes them look thinner than they are. Am pleased with the ECW bust, worth the effort of remastering him. Nice idea about the kebab stick, well worth trying.
