Here's my completed version of "Letter to an Unknown Soldier.
Despite the difficulties with the rifle at the end, it was still a very enjoyable bust to paint,
It's an exquisite piece of sculpting and casting.

Next up..... I have started work on 4 pieces. :wacky:
All will be revealed soon..... I hope.

It's a great sculpt of a poignant subject and I think you really did it justice. I love the expression you have captured in the face.

Another fine piece Malc, it's quite a poignant figure and you've given it a sympathetic paint job that's just right for the mood, good job it wasn't a Dear John letter!

Cheers Simon

Thanks Nigel, It is very poignant as you say and that's what attracted me to it.
I have to admit I'm happy with the face, I really enjoyed painting it.

Hi Malc

That has come out really well , you’ve done a fine job on the whole piece , love the scarf and the facial features

Fun to follow the V Bench https://www.planetfigure.com/posts/1413301/

Have a look at the comps link ( you can enter up to 3 in each chosen class )

Look forward to a 4 piece reveal

Happy benchtime

Yes, definitely a good job it wasn't a Dear John letter. :)

Your painting seems better to me in real life than in the photos which seem overexposed to me. No doubt this is due to too strong lighting which does not do your work justice.

Thank you Bran.

I have to admit I tried out my new camera in our conservatory with natural light, which obviously has proved too strong.
I'll try something different when I take some photos of my next project.
