This is indeed a great bust to paint, and I look forward to seeing your version.
They were many excellent versions posted on here, Magnus's one in particular.
I watched the TV series and followed his clothing from that.
It's difficult to see how you can make yours original, my only thought is that you saw the character with a
fair amount of stubble, but that could be difficult to replicate.
Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it'll be another stunner.
One thing for sure is, you're really going to enjoy painting this one.

I enjoyed painting the first one.. 1/5th scale so much, that I just had to paint it again in 1/10th scale.

I can see how the scale change would allow you to approach it differently and freshly.

Another beautiful painting to your credit Malc. As I am going to start mine, I am looking on the forum and the internet for versions of this bust to find out what has already been done. It is difficult to think outside the box for this cowboy, the challenge is going to be difficult to make it "original"....
