Hi all!

A couple of weeks ago I picked out a few choice kits from my
stash and had a proper look at each one...

I wanted something simple enough to complete relatively
quickly but with enough detail to present some challenges...

Now I must admit that when I first saw this bust I was not
sure I was that keen on it. How wrong can you be!

This is a little beauty! The finish is outstanding and the
quality of casting was very high. All cleaned up and
undercoated in about 3 hours..

Other commitments and stuff meant it sat on the bench for a
few weeks until 2 nights ago....

This is a personal project so I have kept the contrast high
and aimed at having fun more than anything else..

All in Vallejo Acrylics and using my usual palette ie

Base Mahogany Sand
Mid Dwarf Skin ( Game Colour )
High Sunny Skintone and Basic Skintone ( sunny for first 3 or
4 layers then Basic for the final few to warm it up a bit )
2nd High Light Flesh

Then Citadel Blood red for warming things up and
Vallejo Dark Prussian Blue to cool things down!

Eyes as that old tutorial I did.

This is where I'm at and I expect to have this finished very soon :)

What fun!

Absolutely brilliant work Mark,
I like everything you have done so far on this one Mate.
The eyes and reflected light on the peak are working so well here.
This puts to bed the arguments about not painting catch lights.
Painting of the first order.
Cheers,
Keith

Love this ...the standard of painting I aspire to....don't know wether to be inspired or defeated...
