Hey Jim,

I have to say I am impressed! I think this project has been very good for your sculpting. I also see you made a new friend with a certain putty.
Now you just need to give AVES a try.

One question, how are you going to make the feather?

Joe

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I reaaly appreciate it. :) Do any of you sculptors see mistakes or corrections that need to be made? From looking at the side-by-side I think the hair needs to be built up on top a bit more (looks like there's more depth from the forhead to the top in the photo). Also, I think the nose is too wide. Hard to see your own flaws somethimes, need fresh eyes...

Joe, AVES is next on the list of 'must-trys'. I'm pretty happy with MS but it does have it's setbacks (probably due mostly to me inexperience ). Also want to try the fine (white) miliput. Plan on picking up some AVES at the Atlanta show. Hope he has a variety of colors available. It's sometimes hard to see detail in the MS (being white). I'm thinking something a little darker would make it easier on my eyes. - or is it just MY eyes!? Yes, the feather, shirt collar and broach still need to be added.

Hey Jim!

I also agree that you did a great job, the face has great amount of character. I think the only thing I would say as constructive critisism (although too late for this)would be the cheeks, on yours they look little higher and "deeper" then the ones on the picture, but I dont think its a bad thing, its still an excellent bust. Looking forward to see him painted now!

 very good jod (y)

the only think I can say : perhaps the face is (a little) too much round and the nose broad (but it's seem difficult to change now)

It's a beautiful work, I love it

(My english is still poor, sorry :( )

Thanks guys. Love the critiques! Very helpful. It may be a little late to correct some of those things on this figure, but it certainly does help for future projects - and who knows a dremel tool can work wonders sometimes!
