A Fixture
Hello folks, I have to alpologise for not showing the primed stage etc of the figure before painting becaise everyone likes to see before and after, BUT
I usually just pre-coat a figure and crack on painting.
This figure is a resin kit and consists of:-
Base:- curved earth bank with Zombie body molulded in.
Figure:-
Feet legs and pelvis as one piece,
Upper torso head and arms
Axe and hands.
Flying cloak.
I built and painted the figures base with the legs and feet attached, then the upper body was glued and painted,
The painted cloak was added and last of all the axe.
At this point I was reasonably happy, but felt something was not right
The ne didn't feel complete, and from the side the taper of the back of the base jarred to my eye.
So I set it aside whilst I thought how to enhance it, and decided to add a wind blown tree and some roots emerging out from the top of the earth bank .
Drillling a hole in the rear left corner I added a tre trunk from a mass of copper wire, covered in a mix of tile grouting and acrylic paint and whilst still a littlle soft , added some texture to the trunk and sea foam branches added to give 'direction to the wind that blows his cloak over his head.
After adding some groundscatter and spreading some ivy up the tree trunk from a mix of tea leaves and pva I added roots made from twisted filaments of brass wire stripped from electrical cable and glued them into the bank, dry brushing and a touch of matt varnish brought me to this point
