Lol, it's a long process and I needed a break as I have been non stop modelling for 2 years, but got the bug back!!

Hi Again

Right I have filled, sanded, added a hinge to the middle of the engine cowl and fixed the wings. Most of the canopy is now in place and The base is complete ready for the groundwork.

I have painted the cockpit and redone the instrument panel and checked the composition, still a bit more weathering to the cockpit and will dd the seatbelts at the end.

Hi Dave, another masterclass in modelling mate. Superb. Do like how this is going and really looking forward to seeing the groundwork take shape.

Regards

Ron

Thanks Ron, your usual words of encouragement are as always, inspiring..............thank you!

Dave

Hi All

I have manged to complete the basic camo colours ready for all the weathering, markings etc. I prefer a subtle look to depict some use but pretty pleased with the base colours:-

Its onto the chips, scratches, markings and weathering next!!!!!!

Ah, ya buddy...............this is gonna be a one heck of a dynamic dio Bro. Dave, glad to see you got off hiatus, lol. No worries mate, I'm still doing 1:1 scale builds on the Ranchito, almost done.

I like the close up pic and can't wait to see the figures painted. All that reconfig and added work is really paying off. Beauty Bro, beauty!

Cheers, Ski.

Ventress, many thanks for the compliments.

Stevie Skiiii how you doing fella. Thanks for dropping in and great to hear your words of encouragement.

I have done a tad more painting with the yellow markings, spinner and props. This is to be weathered and detailed so looks a bit new at the moment but pleased as its turned out nice and neat. I have undercoated the prop with silver so when I scrape some of the prop paint it will show nicely underneath. I need to leave overnight to dry and then will add some more dusting:-

Hi All

Ok so making alot of progress now and the finishing line is visible in the distance!

I have hand painted all the decals because you simply struggle to get 1/16 luftwaffe insignia, so alot of masking and hand painting has got 90% of it done. I have completed the secondary weathering, exhaust stains and covered with a good coating of matt varnish ready for the oild washes.

The engine needs painting and weathering, I have the seat belts to fit and the canopy to finish, but its on to the groundwork now. Some examples of masking etc:-

This really is coming together well nice one, will it be at Telford I'd love to see it in the flesh

Steve

Hi Dave, that is a perfect example of getting it done mate. Admire your tenacity where the lack of transfers is concerned. Big respect all round. Very much looking forward to seeing groundwork take shape and bring it all together.
Don't forget the torn up skid marks eh. LoL. Congrats on a lot of progress and don't wait too long to next update please.

Cheers,

Ron

Steve, thanks for your support. I have never shown any of my work! The intention was to put the Tiger in to competition at Folkestone but I'm struggling to get down there and it's a big model to shift. My plan is to get this done and one other large dio to be shown all together next year, so I'll let you know when this is being done by posting on the forum.

Ron, great to hear from you buddy and thanks for your input. I love the groundwork, so I can get all creative with damaged grass, soil etc. I'll try an motor on now bud!!

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave!

I read here for a long time without saying anything.

Now I will say something:
Looking at Your work, I can only bow.

I look forward to each new episode ...

All the best!

Thanks Martin.

The Groundwork is about 85% done, just need to tidy the edges, add some more flowers and any other detail that will enhance the look. The 109 is now in position but I need to finish the canopy, add seat belts and position the grass surrounding it:-

Now we're talkin Dave. The rocks look naturally placed and the grass is good and the inbed flowers add a great touch. Not rushin ya, but I'm lookin forward to them figures Bro. Ruck on Brotha, ruck on!

Cheers, Ski.

Perfection takes time.........
Stunning work.
But Dave, that Tiger Dio cannot be missed at Euro....It is the showstopper of the year.
Please, I hope you can show it there.
