I hope you like it !!!

Many greetings

Very nicely done and a great likeness of Mr. Berenger. Just wish it was a full figure.

NIce Bust and fine paintjob.

Only the hand is a little bit too much and the weapon is to big !
The film carries the sergeant not M 16 assault rifle, but the XM 177th A modification of the M 16.
Cheers

Great portrait of "Sgt Barnes" (Tom Berenger) and brilliantly painted, too!

I agree with Hendryk, the M-16 seems a bit overscaled, if you compare the bust with this photo ...:

And I think Hendryk is right with the type of "Barnes' " weapon. If you want it super-accurate, Berenger carries in this movie an M-16-derivate, the XM 177...:

Yep. Wrong weapon. And I don't consider it being picky or super accurate, just being right. This is supposed to be Sgt. Barnes, and Barnes carried an XM-177 Carbine look-alike (the real thing is shown above, the ones they used in the film were actually Philippine Army Colt 653 pencil barrel carbines) , not a full size M16. Why or how they managed to miss that is beyond me. The rest of it looks pretty good.
Fortunately in my case, I had converted/scratchbuilt a Barnes bust of my own sometime back, carrying the correct weapon. So combining some of this one with my effort might get me finished, depending on how much this one is going to cost.

This is a piece with attitude, beautifully rendered and a must have. And when one looks up who is the genius who sculpts it, the obvious answer is: a non-individual entity. So well done, Company!

Hi guys,

A nice sculpt albeit with the hands looking too big , intersting information from PF members ef the weapon .

That aside a nice bust and likeness and what a great film as well.

I do like the way the mdel is presented in the video clip ...nicely done

Oops I'm sorry, I didn't see the This is meant to be a 100 percent accurate representation of a fiction film character Sgt. Barnes in the title and I'm sure that a soldier in Vietman would never have held an M16......;)

Cmon guys see it for what is.

Really nice sculpt...............

I agree with the above "see it for what it is"
So it's not really the right weapon for the "film" and the M16 he's holding might be a bit chunky with hands to match..Ah well! so what!;)
It's a really nice sculpt, I like it and it looks very well sculpted, I think it would be nice to be able see this in the flesh, close up & personal like before passing serious comment on the weapon or the size of the hands, but either way I'd still consider the purchase of it just on the pics alone.
Cheers

@ Gellso: with a bow and arrow, he would also look good.
Fictitious or not - in the film bears the sergeant not the M 16.

Either I'm doing something right or not!

Steve, have a go at building it into a full figure;)I do it all the time with busts that need for far more detailed legs then what this one would require, Or how about having him in murky swamp water up to his ammo pouches etc?

Maybe he would suit a bow and arrow...as long as it wasn't too big for his hands...right;)
I apologise if I didn't make it clear, maybe you have trouble in the translation. If you look again at my first post I stated they do not claim for it to be 100 percent accurate Sgt. Barnes. Also bear in mind this is a film.......fictional! one and a half hours of "acting". I think the Vietnam guys done a years tour...and I think there maybe a big chance that these guys handled an m16 at some point during that year if you let your mind wander for a wee bit, loosen them shoulders, deep breaths and relax.

And why does it have to be commando version of the m16 he's holding...no-one is going to die because of this...maybe some guys would lose sleep worrying about it at most.

It is probably because of translation on both sides.

What I mean, no one would wear a Napoleon Kürassierhelm just because he might have done it once!
This bust represents the Sgt from the movie, then why not right?
In the film, he does not wear M 16!

Hendryk

Roger the Problem is, he looks like Tom Berenger in the movie, face, scars, everything.

So it's made for an exact template!
Hendryk

First of all, I agree Hendryk, because I like it exactly.

And if an actor is shown from a particular movie, then I would prefer that all the details match to the model.

Ultimately, this is a marginal topic, although I would have appreciated a little more research effort. But who wants to look at the bust as any Vietnam-fighter: You're welcome!

My main problem with the bust, however: The M 16 seems overscaled...:
