Hi to all..........
I hope my pc holds on to let me do these postings, because it needs formatting as it has gone bonkers
This is my MADDEST project so far...........but enjoyable just as much, as it was also my biggest challenge so far, painting two 90mm faces, in a step by step format..........besides having TWO DIFFERENT SKIN TONES, I had to stop at each stage and take pics.........with all due respect to everyone, and without sounding big headed or something, my BIGGEST NIGHTMARE is to paint faces, I find that painting heraldry or some design, is less mind boggling for me, maybe that I'm painting something so small and "alive"........I don't know, all I know is that I spent too many hours on these faces, spanned on a whole week
Flesh mixes are as follows.........
Mamluk:
Base - English Khaki 921 + Verm 909 + Sunny Skintone 845 + Med Olive 850
H.L. - Base + S.Skintone
H.H.L. - H.L. + Flat Flesh 955
L.L. - Black 950 + Verm 909 diluted
Beard area - Black 950 + Prussian Blue (A) diluted
Weary, Fatigued touch in the eye bag area - wash with Prussian Blue (A)
Washes of Intense Orange 851 and/or Verm 909 were applied in the hollow of the cheeks, upper eye area, sides of the nose, moustache area, sides of the upper chin area.
Roman Consul :
Base - Khaki (A) + Verm 909 + Sunny Skintone 845
H.L. - Base + S.Skintone + Medium Flesh 860
H.H.L. - H.L. + Flat Flesh 955 + Basic Skintone 815 + Light Flesh 928
L.L. - Black 950 + Verm 909
Again, beard area is same as Mumluk's and also the fatigued weary touch in the eye bag area!
Also washes with Verm 909 and/or Intense Orange 851 were applied in the same parts as the Mamluk's (were accessable of course)
The last photo shows the finished faces with the satin varnish applied, which I feel blends and merges all colours, into a more harmonious look.
As I said I'm going to be without the pc for as long as my "pc doctor" deems fit, as yes, I'm still pc IGNORANT
Any questions or critism are mostly welcome,
Ray
