it's a stunning work...

at last, i can see this figure in Planetfigure.
i think this figure have very good skin tone. Do you have used oils for this figure? i want to know this composition of color this skin tone. i like it.

and tattoo is very applicable to this skin tone. it's beautiful work.

Hi Marco,

You've done tremendous work so far. The skintones are excellent.I can't ait to see him finished.

Don't be afraid to use some dark green pigment with your black to paint the moko tattoo. I think it will help when it comes to shading and highlighting the moko and will help with blending the transitions between the skin tones underneath the tattoo.

Cheers

Hi Marco,

Looking very good and skin tone is OK although could be slightly darker olive. Tony's suggestion of a little green in the tattoo is spot on and I would suggest adding some 3 dimensionality to it as these tattoos were very traditional resulting in scarring in effect filled with ink. The patterns are unique to every individual and tell the story ("whakapapa") of where the warrior came from. You can find more information on my original post on this thread:

Message number 7.

I am thrilled to see other folk doing figures from our long neglected history, which sure is not at long as many countries however is a proud one all the same, if you would like to know more about the history of Ta Moko I did write an editorial about this a while back here:

Thank you for helping bring our nation's history alive so beautifully in miniature.

Kind regards,

Mike
