This is my latest bust which I have had the pleasure of painting. She is painted in oils over acrylics. I hope you like her.

John.

Oh wow, John: You have done a beautiful job on the
bust of one of my all time favorite film stars. She looks
just beautiful. And the way you got that sheen on the
jacket is just so so fine. Congrats, Rick

Thanks for your comments folks. I have to say that Marilyn is one of the hardest busts I've ever painted. I'm used to putting lots of shading and shadows on my pieces, but Marilyn is very light skinned with platinum blonde hair. She was very much a challenge but I'm also very grateful to my wife for my lovely birthday present.

I have recently been contacted by Sang-Eon Lee from Life Miniatures who designed and sculpted this bust. He told me that he liked my version and wants to include images of it on his website to which of course I am honoured. For a simple painter such as me this is like winning a Gold at Euro and I am happy that Sang-Eon likes my work. I must say that the sculpting of all Life Miniatures busts is exceptional and they are a joy to paint. Thank you to Sang-Eon for contacting me and to everyone who have made such positive comments, and of course to my wife Beverley who bought me the bust for my birthday. It has turned out to be one of the best.
