Hi guys

This 1:54 creation of a small diorama was inspired from a famous paint of the Mariscal Ney when surrounded by the Cossacks, holding a rifle organizes an escape to the
rest of the Napoleon army, in the retreat from Russia.

Using some modified spare Historex parts, I sculpted the winter uniforms and dressed up as the soldiers did to protect themselves from terrible cold, with any kind of ragged clothes… I also modified the arms and head .I made hands the flag and accessories. I created the Marshal's coat as it was like the still existing original one.

All was painted with acrylic.

"During the retreat from Moscow, Ney commanded the rearguard (and was accidentally known as "the last Frenchman on Russian soil" because of it). After being cut off from the main army during the Battle of Krasnoi, Ney managed to escape in a heavy fog over the Dnieper River, but not without heavy losses, and to rejoin it in Orsha, which delighted Napoleon.
For this action Ney was given the nickname "the bravest of the brave" by the emperor. Ney fought at the Berezina and helped hold the vital bridge at Kovno (modern-day Kaunas), where legend portrays Ney as the last of the invaders to cross the bridge and exit Russia. "Wikipedia"
