Great work as always Ken. I haven't quite achieved what I would call a proper woodland Indian flesh tone yet. What is your recipe?

Thanks Mike! I should have mentioned this earlier in the thread. I use mostly Vallejo with a few reaper paints and Citadel washes/shades. My approach is to keep my mixes as simple as possible. I use Vallejo cavalry brown (medium/dark reddish brown) as the base coat. I then highlight with Vallejo light brown or Reaper Orange brown (same color) adding white to make multiple highlights. I over do the highlights a bit because my later wash will tone the highlights down. I then use citadel Earth shade/wash not as a wash but as normal paint to lay in some shadows. Finally, I wash all the flesh with either citadel flesh shade (makes it more red) or citadel sepia shade (makes it more brown) to tie it all together. I also use the citadel flesh or sepia shades as washes on Caucasian flesh, after doing normal highlights and shadows, to create a slight sunburned effect. I hope that makes sense. :)

That's brilliant Ken, the detail and paint finish at this scale is terrific, marvellous composition too, very atmospheric and evocative.

Wow! You've done it again Ken.
You've turned a simple plastic kit into a superb little vignette.
An excellent rendition of the Robert Griffin painting.
As Bob said so aptly ... 'Master of the Master Box'.
Very, very well done.

Cheers,
Andrew

As usual, by the time I find this thread, everything I wanted to say has already been said. Superb work Ken! Your feel for your Nation's history is most apparent in this lovely vignette.
