Interesting to me that you left the lace white and painted the dark blue and red uniform colours around it. I would never try that but would instead paint the lace onto the ground colour. Neat to see a different style in play. Is the reason that the white under coat results in brighter lace?
Hi Colin, I always try and paint neatly around each part if possible, especially if it's a light colour like gold - I find it easier to paint light colours over white than, say, dark blue. I try to keep the layers needed to a minimum.
I met him and his wife (Stepanie?) during my Career-he was a lovely fellow and a great loss when he died so young. Very unpretentious in spite of his success-He joked that it was only steel plates holding him together-a brave man.
