Short update on this figure, a few more details have been painted in oils, ie, the belts and pouches, the rest of the figure has been painted in acrylics.
I have found details in the Osprey book on the Longbow and some nice images for which I have based this figure on.

You’ve done a very nice job on this Bob. I’ve seen steady improvements on your painting over the years. You’ve achieved a really high standard. Well done indeed.

Thank you Chris, kind words indeed and encouraging for me. I started painting in the 80s but work and growing children put a stop to it and picked up a brush about 8 years ago. I now have more time to devote to the hobby.
Kindest regards
Bob

Good progress on this guy, will he remain "clean" or are you dragging him through the mud?

The chainmail on the figure is very well rendered, some skilful sculpting there.

looking very good, nice subtle tones.

Thank you all for looking in and leaving excellent comments, yes I hope to drag him through a hedge backwards and give him some mud too, fingers crossed.
As for the chain mail, it's very finely cast.
All the best
Bob

Nice work indeed.
(Ref. sculpture, the brimmed helmet might foul the bow-string and affect the aim. But that's just a bit of pendantry and reflects no more than the difference between war- and target-shooting)
It's a nice figure and looks good so far.

Thank you David, I have the same opinion but I did not want to pass on the figure.

Nice progress Bob, the fella is starting to come to life, I can see that joining Planet Figure is a two edged sword I have re-assesed my approach to the hobby but am constantly tempted from my chosen path, D'ho!

Cheers Simon
