Hi Guys,

Whilst researching uniform details for my 28mm Mexican army, I was inspired to create a large scale version!

Sculpted in 120mm, using Miliput and Duro over a resin dolly, there is still a long way to go. Much cleaning up still needed, finish off musket, add all buttons, buckles, badges, etc. I am intending him to be holding a water canteen in the right hand suspended by its strap and to add a small base.

Thanks for looking,

Steve(y)

Hi Steve,
Something a bit different and captures the period well, I liked the rag tag look of the Mexican army during this period with their rolled up trousers and way over due hair cuts :)
What musket are you doing, plenty of India Pattern Brown Bess muskets were purchased by the Mexican army prior to this period from the British Government, I have some castings of the Long Land Brown Bess(1st pattern) in 120mm which can easily be converted to the India pattern if you need one, just needs barrel and stock shortening.

All the best
Steve

Thanks for the encouragements, guys -

Steve - Yes, I liked that ragtag look, too! Ill PM you about the muskets, thanks.
Mark - thanks for that - I always like something a bit off track!

Cheers again,

Steve, has the makings of a great scult, will it become commercial when finished or is it just for your own pleasure!

Don

Don - I'm hoping that it will become commercial - I suppose it depends on whether it ticks all the boxes with the painters! I will post further pics as it progresses, many thanks for posting,

Steve I can but hope, Mexican uniforms of the day were very colourful but with lot of wear showind, early "shabby sheek".
If its as good as your others I have no worries!
Great looking figure.
Don
