This is one I did a couple of years ago but I stripped it just to re paint it over Christmas.

I am pretty sure I originally got it from Ken at Mil-Mart but I have not been able to find it online. I also was so sure I had pictures of the original paint but I was wrong, I don’t appear to have them although I do believe I posted it on here at the time but my content doesn’t seem to go back that far.

Anyway, a fun semi flat (Demi Ronde) all painted in acrylic. A bit rough but it will do until I strip it again.

I am pretty sure it is based on this photo I found on the ‘tinterweb

And this is my version of it

Nicely done Graham. I know the photo well, but not seen the demi-ronde before - it's a good likeness. I visited the German cemetery in La Cambe in Normandy a few years ago and was told his grave marker was in there, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks Phil. According to Wikipedia, that is the place he is buried

In fairness there are a lot in there and there's only a certain amount of time the mem 'sahib will follow me around a war cemetery before she starts.....you know:rolleyes:

Oh yes I do know. I used to be heavily into nature photography but I don’t drive so I rely on her to take me to photo locations but in reality, the time I needed to find and setup a shot was far more than she could understand so it became a pointless exercise :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hi Graham

Wondered what you had on your bench and now I know !!

This I am sure is from Ken Farrar ....you've done a good job on this and as you say you can always strip it and repaint ..but for now you have enjoyed it

Don't forget we now have various classes in the FOTM as well ...Standard being one so do give it a go it will be fun

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Thanks Nap. Not sure about the competition but I do have time to see how the next project goes. I have tried emailing Ken through the Mil-Mart website but not had a reply yet as there are some other bits I would like from him. If anyone knows if Ken is still trading I would like to hear from them.

Very nice paint work. Wittman and his crew are in La Cambe in a group grave. I was there in 05 and if I remember correctly it is off to the right side of the cemetery as you enter.

Thanks for the photo Scott, much appreciated. I might well have looked at it and not realised it represented a tank crew. He was the same age as my father, who was in Normandy with 15th (Scottish) Infantry, 12 Corps. Probably not very far away from Wittman many times during Summer '44

Hi Graham, yes I'm still around and apologies for not seeing the E-mail.
I did change my website a while back , so in case here's the new one.
www.milmartminiatures.com
Some of my earlier Flats may not be on there , so if there was anything in particular you were after I'll probably still have one somewhere.
Cheers
