Great conversions Mike, and good to see New Zealanders being represented. Your painting skills amaze me - one can almost feel the one day's growth, and the texture of the uniform. The skin rendition is brilliant. A master painter indeed. My latest effort is going in the dettol bath!!

One of the great joys of this forum is to see the outstanding work being produced by some very talented people. I will never get there (too old and too busy researching and writing military history) but to see others achieving such high levels of skill is satisfaction enough for me with this hobby.

Quite agree Nap, I have quite a few photos of vets myself.
I have just snapped my paintbrush and cried in the water jar.:cry:
Awesome painting Mike, Bloody awesome.

I have now taken up knitting.

The skin tones and creases on the skin and how you achieve the materiel look of the cloth.
I have a a little idea how you do it but thats it.

Will be feature SBS article in Figure Painter Magazine early next year.
