Cheers mate
The reference you sent and a bit of googling , back to work tomorrow so I have had a good old day , my Mrs has been a diamond brought me tea and biscuits to my man cave lol
Thanks for the feed back its been a bit of a learning curve German camo a different approach at painting face with black under coat
Cheers Chris

Lovely work, however, and only a small however, it seems to be a trend started by Kim, that the Orange Ochre has now become almost a Cadmium Orange hue, if you look at existing examples of this camo it's more muted, Vallejo Orange Ochre is nearer to the shade originally used IMHO, what does anyone else think? I don't mean to impune Kims work as he is a master.
As I said initially, lovely work and the face is absolutely spot on!
Tsaung Harmms posted about the original photo that this bust is modelled on, and I believe current research confirms that the poncho is actually a german shelter quarter and not an american poncho, I can't remember what the pattern is but the post is still on PF.

Hi mate thanks for the , feed back all feed back is very much appreciated .
I have sat and looked at it and felt that is was to bright I will re do with the color that you suggested , it's great that you took the time to point it out as with all the other help I have had from my PF friends .
Would I be correct in saying that the poncho would be more gray than the green I have used ?
I am glad you feel the face is coming along , I tend to try and make my faces tired and battle weary I often feel that the faces on some figure look like they have just had a facial , I hasten to add of which I do not participate lol.
Perhaps some painters use a brighter palette for photo purpose .
I do remember there was a perticular trend a few years ago to paint a certain way for photos , which to be honest , when seen in the flesh did not look as good as in the pic .
I always feel that infantry soldiers perticular you in combat were grubby dirty and had a certain look .
Again thank you mate for your feedback
Off to work now GGErrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Chris

Thanks very much for that bogusman ,
wow there is a lot of information and it looks very much like researched to death on the uniform and equipment.
I'll have to take my nose out of Sky planner and do some serious reading to make sure I get all the details in prep for my attempt at the bust.
