This was a present from my boys for my Birthday back in October. Nearly finished it...

looking good, love the leather jacket what medium did you use?

Monty. The whole model is done using Vallejo acrylics. The leather is a number of thin layers of leather brown built up using an airbrush to give me the depth of colour on the model.

Excellent rendering of Monty, like your color choices. Now for my "but", Monty's battledress jacket cut from woolen fabric and should have more texture to it. Presently the photos give a canvas like sheen. Try a jabbing action with your brush. Cheers Eh!

You've managed to bring out monty's features very well with your painting and you've also done some great work on the leather as well

Nice work Pops and it always wise to paint presents from your children . If they see them painted they keep buying , if the stay in the stash they get the idea they have bought the wrong thing and stop buying .
The only thing I might suggest is the hair and moustache are a bit too grey , remember Brylcreem made hair darker and Monty was a dapper gent .
chippy

Thanks chaps. Your respective points are noted and i will be looking into them. TTFN :)
