Cheers Simon - yes, my own home grown decals! The graphics needed to be precise, so this was the only way, really. The MA1 has a small amount of metallic medium added to the colour, but I think I will mix my own slightly satin varnish to finish it...!(y)

Phew I nearly threw my brushes out! There is a very definate look to a well used and much loved bomber jacket and I think you are right a satin finish will be just right.

My bomber jacket was de rigour for Airborne Forces in the 80's in Aldershot not down to music preference and everything that went along with both movements.

Cheers Simon

Not really sure why an MA1 jacket was the chosen garment for scootering.... it just was! I retained my parka for bad weather, it lived in the box behind the leg shields! I never went down the route of fitting a car radio and speakers to the stowage box, like some of my mates did!(y)

Every.now and then I see bomber jacket clad men riding around the local area on their scooters which are emblazoned with roundels and union flags among other things. I also remember my, underage, brother in law asking me to collect various bar towls for him, they ended up sewn to his fishtail parka!

Cheers Simon

Cheers chaps! The square patches were a bit crudely printed onto cotton, apart from the round embroidered ones. They were usually produced by the club/organisers of the "run" and were often transfer printed anyway, so the decals look quite authentic! Oh, yes, bar towels on parkas...!!! What were we thinking!
