Hello everyone,

Today my elite drummer arrived...... Found it on the internet last week luckily.

The figure is from 1997.

Earlier this year i bought the new pegaso waterloo kit and i was very dissapointed with casting of the faces.

I compared the figures and maybe i am right when i think "new isnt always better".

Greetings, Stephan

Pegaso are no longer the force they once were. And they haven't been for some time.

These days they seem to focus most of their attention on their Kimera fantasy range, and just pay lip service to the historical genre with the occasional release, most of which are very uninspiring (like that Waterloo pair). They win no prizes for casting quality either if your photo is anything to go by.

Very well said. They're not what they were. And as Steve rightly says, they appear to have switched focus to the fantasy side of things. I guess you can only be at the top for so long. That drummer boy is one of Latorre's best. One of the trickiest I've ever done, but very worth it.

It is sad to see. I have some great kits from Pegaso but i think this waterloo kit will be the last pegaso kit for me. I will spend my hard earned money for hunting some classic kits like the elite/latorre stuff. I have some others from them and was never dissapointed with the quality. Back then 20 years ago quality was more important for the companys than nowaday i guess.

Nope, sorry. Quailty, in general, is better than ever. We are in a Golden age for that. We're no longer relying upon Poste Militaire or Pegaso. You've really got to go some to get a poor quality figure these days.

If you want Latorre 54mm figures, look no further. I've had a few that I missed out on years ago, and I couldn't fault them.
