A Fixture
My friends
Last Sunday was the Brazilian Mother´s Day. I do not know if it was in other countries too.
I think that we are part of the most fortunate group of modellers, because we can use our work (good or bad, doesn´t matter), to make special gifts to our loved ones in special ocasions. A figure is always a nice present, looks great in a house, even if the person is not a collector, and we have a virtual infinity of subjetcs.
Since my mother visited Austria, she became fascinated with the history of Empress Maria Theresa. Visited her palace, read a lot, etc.
So, for Mother´s Day, i decided to give her the Empress bust, sculpted by my friend Ulrich Puchala and sold by his company, UP-Miniaturen. Review here, made by my friend Kevin Peart.
I made a "classic" painting; a neutral skin tone, not too much contrast e a lot of golden touches (because of my mother´s preference )
Besides, in the back of the wooden base, i made a plate with a dedicatory (i omitted it from the photos, being a personal thing, hope you guys don´t mind)
Here´s the result; critics and comments are welcome.
In time: my mother loved it!
E happy Mother´s Day to all the mothers of my fellows figure painters.
All the best
