On XIV th century warriors in Russia don’t use bascinet, pteruges. Horse saffron is phantasmagoric. Strange shield – iron boss from Mongolian shield, image from icon GREAT MARTYR DEMETRIOS OF THESSALONICA, second quarter – mid-15th c.

Igor Dzis illustrations beautiful, but non historical. Best choice - read historical literature, see artefacts, fresco, illuminated manuscripts.

I got this picture from Kulikovo museum : also the exposed armor seem to have bascinet ?
are they wrong ?

Marc, most arms and armour in Kulikovo museum was reconstructed by Michael Gorelik. His replicas is moot. And i don't see on this photo bascinet, only horse armour.
