Colours used:
Base: Flat yellow ( Vallejo model colors)
Shadows: 1st gold yellow ( Vallejo game colors)
2. Cavalry brown ( Vallejo model colors)

Really well painted heraldry, are you adding detail to the beast or is it just going to be the shape? Either way is good.

Thanks Nap,
I will use different shades on the heraldry but since it is a relatively small and flat surface I am not planning to go crazy on it. Leaving the are with a grey base coat would have been a better idea, I will surely consider it for the next subject like this.

It is definetly not done yet. Two more coats as I mentioned with different shades, getting lighter towards the top similar to the shield. Have to add the eyes, and some linework with black. Here is what I am going for in general:Coa_Hungary_Clan_Ják.svg.png

... As we all know painting yellow on black is never a good idea, it is way more chalkier than I planned, hopefully some fixes and weathering will make it less obvious. There are two more coats on the yellow to be applied then comes the tear and wear.

I think it looks fine. The "chalky" look may actually make it look more realistic for the time. I doubt the shields weren't professionally painted.
