I've been out of touch regarding hobby things for a while. Is there anyone in the U.S. who makes nameplates? My local trophy shops don't seem interested in the sporadic business I'd bring them.

Thanks.
Mike

Go to Name-It

as Keith says, they're excellent and importantly they genuinely really understand modelling, where a standard trophy place won't

I wasn't sure if Name-It was still in business. Obviously, they're highly recommended. I did check out their website when they started way back when. If the do-it-yourself links don't work out, I guess I'll get in touch with them.
My thanks to all for the responses.

They most certainly are ...I ordered and received the plates 2 days later

Please do mention about PF when you contact them....Julie and Paul Newman

I know they are getting ready for SMC next weekend as well

You can look forward to quality work

I'm looking forward to attending the Chicago show this weekend. If I don't spend all my hobby money, I'll get in touch with them next week and I'll be sure to mention PF.
I haven't painted many figures based on the 1600's or earlier but I'm anxious to try Derek's idea. I may have to buy a couple of pirates this weekend.

If you order anything from Julie & Paul near Christmas, they'll send you a Christmas card! Very nice people to deal with, & as said above they understand modelling.

Mike,
I use my local trophy shop and the lady who owns it is very nice and does what I need without any problems. She is happy to oblige me and usually does my plates in about three days. I live in Denton TX and it is a college town and she gets some weird orders from faculty and students alike. We chit chat when I stop bye. I think that you just ran into and un-cooperative shop who with that attitude may not survive for very long.
Enjoy the Chicago show and be sure and visit the "Last Cavalry" and tell David Youngquist I sent you.
I order from them from time to time.
Cheers
John
