I ilke the hat I think you have caught the right shade of black with just the right amount of sheen

Thanks for your comments. Sorry Dave, I do not have an exact formula of the mix I used. I do use unbleached titanium white as my base and add whatever color I think will get me the color I am looking for (no science here, just go by eye). I used some of the many paintings of him to compare to when mixing the flesh tones. Finally, the beard growth and red in his cheeks were applied more as glazes in later painting sessions.
