This just keeps getting better, what brand of metallics are you using?

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon.

Kitchen sink of paints. Base is Liquitex mid grey liquid pro. Then Golden liquid pro pewter, stainless steel, silver, two brands of ground silver powder in a clear medium, liquitex silver ink, Sargent’s liquid metal silver (sadly discontinued), and lots of inks including raw umber, purple, two shades of sepia, payne’s grey, indigo. Are you sorry you asked yet?

Hi Colin

Good update on this , the cuirass looks really good with the oak leaves coming on well

Liking the blue you’ve done as well as the great epaulettes and the aguilette....very effective painting

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

Approaching completion. He’s on his plinth. Just need to paint the under surfaces, legion sash, legion medal and do all manner of touch ups. I may play with his face more too…although I am thinking that many a good paint job has been ruined by the search for perfection.

My mind is wandering to the next project.

Looks pretty awesome Colin, be careful on the face it's already brilliant and if you are thinking more about the next project then better be safe than sorry.

Re the metallics, wow that's more like alchemy with all those ingredients, way too complex for me.

Cheers Simon

Hi Colin

Thanks for the update ...looks good so far , particularly the silverwork and the cuirass

I wouldn’t touch the flesh ...looks fine as it is , the hair works well also

Look forward to seeing the final areas completed

Happy benchtime

Looking superb and I can only agree with the others, don't mess with that face! It looks pretty good to me. I only go back if there is something that really needs correcting (like the eyes aren't quite right). Take any learning from this one into the next project.....
