Loving where you are taking his face Colin, ...

Back again, sorry just had to show one of my cats where her dinner was, I feed all three in the same place twice a day but they all.need to be shown every time!

Right where was I, oh yeah the paint work is amazing, especially as Henk pointed out the eyes.

Cheers Simon

Yeah, that's my approach too. Metallic paints look better 'in the flesh'.

Alexandre's box art uses metallics and if I can come near that I will be a happy painter.

A bit more progress. I am posting face updates frequently so the progression can be seen.

While I am painting St. Cyr I am fending off a rescue cat we have just adopted. She has bonded to me and wants to live on my lap. She’s what is known as a “wobbly cat” due to having FIP as a kitten. Good thing I’m not painting in oils or I would have hair in my paint for sure. She’s a lovely cat that had a rough start in life so I cut her some slack.

Thanks for the nice words

Colin

That's really nice, she is a lovely looking cat, a bit of a wobble is just character and makes her more adorable. I mostly seem to get cat hairs in my wet palette, even when it's just refreshed! I remember when I was growing up my mother adopted countless cats, from old bruisers at the ends of their days to poor little strays, I swear she'd have adopted a stray elephant if it walked down the road.

Cheers Simon

The face is awesome, I really can't see what more you are going to do but it can only get better.

Now you point it out there is a distinct likeness, is this a case of reincarnation in miniature!

Cheers Simon

Beautiful work Colin, just caught up.

Me too Colin

The graduation on the flesh works so well , sculpt looks awesome ......as expected with Alexandros

Agree ref metallics on the armour ....looking forward to seeing that progress

Liking the embroidery so far are you using a variety of grays and whites ?

She doesn’t have the balance to be mischievous. She sits in front of you, raises a front paw and falls over backwards. But she’s the most affectionate animal ever.

St. Cyr’s lace formula is base dark grey, highlight 50:50 dark grey and pink flesh, then unleached titanium, then parchment, then white. Two shades of diluted sepia ink at varying stages.

Tunic sleeves painted with a make up sponge. Added some diluted acrylic ink washes. I’m painting all the non-metallics including metallic embroidery first so I can dull coat those parts of the model without impacting the finish on the metallics (e.g. steel cuirass).
