Can anyone recommend a device (& source) for holding 75mm figures while painting them.
My shaky fingers need help...
Harry

I use one of these. Universal work holder.

Not sure if available Stateside though.

Amazon in U.S. have it:-
https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Wo...5c-9f59-4c88-ba1f-173e38d9546e&pd_rd_wg=MH1j5
Price might vary since this is for shipping to U.K.
There's also this similar item:-
https://www.amazon.com/Hand-Free-Universal-Holder-HOL-173-00/dp/B0058EDVXQ
I have both types. I find the second one handy if I have an item on a pin vice for painting, but is unstable to leave standing on its own (I actually have six of these).

Cheers,
Andrew

Don't give Bezos the money. Buy it from MicroMark-that's where I got mine:

I'm still getting used to it. I've used it more without the long handle, which screws into the base of the table.
Also, the machining is not consistent; that is, either the pins or the holes are inconsistent in their tolerances. Not every pin fits every hole, and some are loose enough that if you should tip the table, they can fall out.
I've found it handy, though, for older figures with bases attached, like the old Staddens that I like to paint.
Honestly, for a 75mm figure, I'd just put a pin in the feet and stick it to a piece of cork, or styrofoam, or a piece of pine, to hold it.

Prost!

All the recommendations are helpful. All useful is some degree. I'll start with the homemade.
Thank you all,
Harry

I removed the Handel and attached a wooden egg cup so it stands up

Most of the time I hold my figures with my hand (but do wear gloves at all time when painting). And only use acrylics

I always just used wooden dowels with holes drilled for the leg rods. Put in a coffee cup when done for the evening.

Hi there

All good useful ideas ......for me as I paint busts , generally I mount on the wood base , then cover in cling film and paper tape ....using the base as my handle

Nap

I've started doing that with busts. Kind of makes sense really unless they need some sub assembly (which is rare).
