Hi all the 3rd figure in our on going North and South Range, this time it’s a New York Fire Zouave 1861. It was sculpted by our good friend Greg Girault. Again we have gone for early stages of the war and the meany different uniforms their were.

This will be up for pre order through the T F B Miniatures website on www.tfbminiatures.co.uk. Our caster Juan is working hard to get all the new releases together. Rest assured all pre orders have now been listed and will be dispatched as soon as the kits arrive.

Thank again for your support.

I think this range of figures will do well. You're doing good work capturing interesting subjects from the ACW. Thanks and don't stop!

Hi Steve thank you it was our aim to try and bring something a little different from the usual . We have more in the pipeline but here is a small collection to kick the range off.

That's another one to add to my collection.
Great sculpt and a colourful uniform.

TFB, this is an awesome release! Can't wait to get my hands on one! :)

Your company is doing figures that are not the run of the mill. American Civil War releases have been awesome!(y)

Thank You for Listening! Terry Martin-Member of the Atlanta Military Figure Society

Thanks Simon, it is a nice sculpt.

Malc, it is a colourful piece different from the normal stuff .im sure you will enjoy it.

Terry thank you for the kind words, we intended to do a different spin on the ACW. Early war units are so different and not been touched really. We listened to what people were asking for and we went for it. Greg and Eduard both have a passion for that period and it’s shown in the sculpts they do. It’s a range that will be expanded in the months to come.

We are sure we will be seeing lots of them in the coming months. The box art for them will be done by javier Montero so will keep you posted.

It’s now up on the website Terry fixed the issue so feel free it’s their.

What's with the designer belt buckle?

Cheers Simon

These were fire zouaves, and we're recruited from the different fire company's/ fire departments. They also wore the fire badges on the uniform. I believe and I may be wrong but each company had a different belt badge.
Brownell was the first to be awarded the medal of honour at the begining of the war but did not receive it till 1877.

A great figure, again, which I already pre-ordered.

One detail, as per the wiki article on the 11th New York Infantry, quoting Smith, Robin (1996). American Civil War Zouaves. Westminster, Maryland: Osprey Publishing:

(quote:) ... Contrary to modern art prints, the Fire Zouaves did not go off to war wearing fireman's belts or paint mottos on their fezzes. ... (unquote)

Cheers,
Peter

The volunteer infantry, like this country during the Victorian period, wore grey at the beginning of the war, later wore dark blue

Well thanks for all the info guys, so much good info for the modeller to have a go at. I was reading up about them as they were an interesting unit. The photo is what the figure was based on. The pose that sold us on it and the fact it’s different which again got us thinking.

Nap there may be a bust in it at some point who knows, but this range will be expanded on with more interesting subjects to come.
