The door is made from some old oak cut offs I have had for years.

The oak just worked for that. The ligher piece is a small pice of oak branch I found on my walk home. I still need to make a sliding boldt for the door. I do not plan to make it a working feature it just has to look like it could work. ;-)

I was just thinking I have had those pieces of oak for like 20 years. I worked construction one year, and I worked with the finish carpenters quite a bit. They always had this beautiful quarter sawn oak that they were using in the house we were working on. So I started to have them save me cut offs that I used for model making. They spared no expense on that house. It was a beautiful house in Palos Verdes.
