Not a guru ..more like a gonk !!!!

For gold I use GW Snakebite leather , White and black , mixing to achieve the result I want to get the first 2 for base and highs with a little bit of pure white to deceive the eye ...the shadows are the first and last

So I don't actually buy a set as such

Scale 75 do some good sets of NMM

If you search here and You tube there are lots to look at

Vallejo Game Color do a great set of Non Metallic Metal colours that I have found to be the best to paint a range of white metal and yellow metal shades.

The set includes a painting guide that it always useful.

Take a look at the Scale 75 or Vallejo sets. Though it's highly likely you have the colours you need already.

Silver is after all grey, black, and white. And golds are a brown yellow, dark brown, and white. Though adding in other colours depending on surroundings is a great idea too.

Take a look at the Pegaso 90mm Roman that they've just announced. Painted by Alfonso Giraldes using NMM.
