WIP Critique NSW Lancer, Boer War, 1/9th scale bust, Dolman Miniatures

Hi folks,

I love this bust by Dolman Miniatures. Boer War is under-represented as a period of history, and Australian colonial military history is a particular favourite of mine.

I feel like I’ve got my mojo back so I’m going to give this bust my best effort.

This is the result of one night of painting.

Totally agree with your comments on both the Boer war and Colonial ...so many great uniforms .

Good to see you have your mojo back ...great productive session as well .

Can you share your mixes if possible

Of course I will be following ...really close ...lol as I have this in 1/16th from Dolman

Hi Nap

My paints are Josonja acrylics.

Flesh tone mix is Unbleached Titanium, Raw Sienna and Cadmium Scarlet.

Uniform base colour is Provincial Beige and Cadmium Scarlet.

Shadow tone on the Khaki is Andrea Colour Base B 4 from the Multi Purpose Khaki Paint set.

The super detailing work hasn’t started yet, but it’s starting to come together.
