Going for a verdaccio style base coat. This is the first time trying it on anything other than a practice head. She looks a little like an orc right now. This is going to be big test of trusting the process.

Worst case, it looks terrible and I have to strip it and start again. I am as intrigued as anybody else to see how it works out.

On my practice heads it worked out ok. It looks terrible right now and will look worse before it looks better.

Interesting, there is a solidity to the shade flesh tones already much more so than if done on a white base coat.

The green is indeed supposed to make the flesh tones more vibrant and natural looking when applied in several thin coats.

I used ak interactive 3rd gen acrylics deep brown for shadows adding white for highlights. I used thin coats gradually building up layers. There's more work to do but so far so good I think.

I think there is a feeling of fullness, if that makes any sense, to the skin tones. Richer for the under colour rather than skin tone on white, it seems to be working well.

I'm watching this one with interest. Coming back into the hobby there seems to be an overwhelming different techniques to achieve perfect skin tones. Green, I assume is a bold move?

Ah! There is a real depth being achieved with this method. With the deeper shades this is really going to pop.
